- Heathy Meals for Hungry Kids
This summer all over Austin, Urban Connection Austin will be helping the Texas Department of Agriculture to provide healthy lunches to children in low-income neighborhoods who might otherwise go hungry. We call it Healthy Meals for Hungry Kids. We will need volunteers (individuals or groups) to assist in serving and cleaning up after the meal. More specific information will be announced as it becomes available.

We need volunteers to lead and assist in various fundraising activities. If you are willing to try new things and dream up new fundraising ideas, or just help us with the ones we already have, this opportunity is perfect for you.

- ESL/SSL Classes
We need volunteers to help with this very fun group who are set to begin this Fall. Not simply a language course, this will be a time of cultural cross-pollination, where Spanish and English speaking students learn from one another about culture, language, traditions, and food! As in all of our activities, relationships are the first priority. We need teachers, organizers, and food preparation volunteers.

We need a volunteer who is great at organizing to help us create and maintain our administrative structures and procedures. Ideally this person would visit our offices one day a week for a few hours, just helping us make sure the trains run on time.

We are not about giving handouts, we are about building enriching relationships within our community. Toward this goal, we will have several neighborhood-wide events throughout the year. - Videographer
We would love to document, edit, and post all of the wonderful things going on in 78758 for all to see. We need a volunteer with basic equipment, time, and talent to act as our videographer. We would like to post videos at the rate of about one per month, no longer than 3 minutes each.
